A new journey…

   So when  I started being a stay at home mom in June I knew that I was starting a new journey in my life, but I tried not to worry knowing that God would provide us with what we needed and would guide me in the right direction. And looking back now he has definitely taken me on an interesting path.

   Since June I have been tutoring. In the beginning it was just for the summer. Then in about July God brought this amazing family into my life. And I started tutoring their son in August of this past year. It has been such a blessing. I have learned so much and I thank God everyday for bringing them into my life. He has answered my prayer to be a stay at home mama for Willie and teach. It has been great!

  The other side path that God has started me on started in July of this year. I have always loved to sew and every now and then I make little things. Well this summer I decided that I wanted to make matching dresses and bows for my twin nieces who will be arriving in November.

This is how they came out…

   

I decided to give them their dresses at their baby shower. After the shower a friend of my family’s came up and told me that I could actually sell my dresses. I of course was like, “Are you serious”. And well from that point on I decided that I would give this selling thing a try. Since then I have sold a few dresses and bows.  Here are a few that I have made.

  My nephew really didn’t want to pose for this pic so he decided to make a silly face to speed the photo process along so he could play with the rest of his birthday presents. He really has loved it though. My sister-in-law has had a hard time getting him to take it off so she can wash it. =)

I am so excited for the journey God has planned for me. I am loving EVERY MOMENT that I am blessed to have to spend with Willie, now that I am home with him everyday! I just love waking up and making him breakfast playing with him and watching him grow and change! I love him so much!

A Road Trip With Great Friends = Good Times!

About 2 weeks ago Matthew, Grace, William, & I headed to Alabama to watch the Gators play. We thought the highlight of the trip was going to be the Gator Game, but we soon found out that due to the BEAT DOWN we endured during the game that the laughter and banter back and forth would make the trip way more memorable than just getting beat by Alabama. 

We left for our trip  Thursday night. We decided instead of making the long drive straight to Birmingham we would stop at Grace’s parents house in S. Alabama. It was a good thing too because William got sick. So he spent the majority of Saturday Sleeping. Grace and I hit up this AWESOME fabric store in Andalousia.  I managed to only spend a little, thanks to Grace. She did have to rein me in a little though. =) Here are some pictures of the Farm…

Friday William felt well enough to head to Birmingham. On the way Matt had to make a stop for his F-I-L. Not only did this cool place have tractor stuff it was William’s dream brought to life (he is on a PICKERS kick) so this place was filled with cool old Timey stuff. My little pack rat was drooling!!

  

Even though William was feeling a little better he still wasn’t a hundred percent and trapped in a car with the three of us may NOT have been his first choice to be. =(

That Saturday was Grace & Matt’s 6 year Anniversary we headed out to the Cheesecake Factory once we got settled in our room. William was a good sport and came along even though his tummy still kind of hurt.

Saturday we drug out of bed enjoyed our COMPLIMENTARY BREAKFAST (things ALWAYS taste better when they are FREE!) Got dressed for the game and headed to Tuscaloosa! Before the game we grabbed some lunch checked out some cool local stored had some yummy ice cream and wandered the beautiful campus while we enjoyed the humidity free weather.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

When it was time to head to our seats we knew ahead of time that we were way up in the satdium what we weren’t prepared for were the GAZILLION flights of stairs to get to our seats. We DEFINATELY could see EVERYTHING from our seats!

Despite the fact we lost, we had a good laugh at some of the locals who were trying to back into us because they were intoxicated.

 

Sunday William had planned on taking me to a pumpkin patch we stopped at on the way home from our trip up to Auburn a few years back. It was kind of on the way home. On the way there we stopped and picked some REAL cotton off the side of the road, saw some beautiful southern homes and sweet small towns, and had too much candy got a sugar high and laughed too hard!!

When we FINALLY got to the pumpkin patch we were PUMPED to get a pumpkin and some yummy boiled peanuts. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

When we FINALLY got home we all rushed to our babies because even though we had a GREAT time we couldn’t wait to see them. And I think Willie missed us as much as we missed him.

Wordless Wednesday!

 

We headed down to S.FL  this weekend to for my cousin’s baby shower. Willie really enjoyed spending time with his cousin. He really liked her stroller!!!

 

  It seemed like for about a month or  two Willie wouldn’t smile for the camera. Now the little character is too silly!!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Willie was the only boy riding in the car! He really enjoyed all the attention from his Great Grandma!

Just a Few Words Wednesday!

This is what Willie was doing one week ago on his birthday!!

 

• He smiled for mommy as she took a MILLION pictures of him to commemorate the BIG DAY in his adorable birthday shirt.

 

• He invited he best pals over to play with his new toys. In the morning Annabelle, Michael, & Madelyn came over.

In the afternoon Cori Belle came over. You can see their fun on Danielle’s blog. I was a bad mommy and didn’t take pics. Here are some pictures I borrowed from her blog.

We wrapped the day up with ONE more birthday cake which was HILARIOUS!!

Who knew that oranage and blue icing would be so nasty when mixed together!!! It was everywhere!!!

I think Willie had a SUPER FUN Birthday week spending time with family and friends!

Willie’s First Birthday Party

I don’t know about all you other mothers out there but I started planning this party just after Willie was born! I know I am crazy! I always looked forward to throwing a 1st birthday party and now I have. I am proud to say that I survived the planning and implementing and the party was a hit! I am also glad that it is OVER!!! Birthday parties are EXHAUSTING!!! Here are some pics of the party before anyone got there.

I worked so hard on making sure everything was special for Willie even though I know he won’t remember it. I wanted every detail perfect! I even made his jon jon that he wore! Here he is sporting it!The stinker was such a sober Joe when it came time to take pictures! Thankfully he somewhat smiled when he was taking pictures with us!

After making a practice cake which he demolished at the picture place and these two I don’t want to see a birthday cake for another year!

 

And when it came time for our little guy to devour his cake he responded with “num”; and carefully used his fingers to pick off the pieces that he wanted.

 

All was going well until he discovered the Cozy Coupe that his daddy and I got him for his birthday. He immediately made a bee line to the car and abandoned the cake action.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

We took that as a sign and decided to start opening presents! Which by the way over the past year we have learned ALOT about things that people don’t tell you about when they are giving you tips about having a baby, BUT this by far was the WORST!!! No one told us how STRESSFUL it is to open presents at your child’s birthday party! I mean you want to give each gift proper attention, but at the same time you don’t want to be “that” party where they took FOREVER to open presents. PLUS you have to somehow explain to a 1 year old that yes this is their new toy and they will eventually get to play with it but for right now we need to set it aside and open the next present.  “Yeah RIGHT!” We got the response you all would assume we would get…

You would think the child had NEVER seen a toy before! And trust me he is NOT deprived! But Willie was blessed to be loved by so many and he got so many gifts he did enjoy all of them you could see how much he liked each of them as we got the above response for each gift. “I know FUN!! Right?!”

We finished the party up with the children breaking the Piñata! (William’s idea, I wanted to save the adorable thing)

Willie had the first hit and then everyone else had a turn.

It was definitely the BEST birthday party I have ever thrown and one that I will remember FOREVER!!! Thank you to all those who helped us celebrate Wille’s 1st birthday! I know not ALL of you are in this picture! You guys made this WILLIE’S BEST BIRTHDAY EVER!!! We could not have done this without our Family! Thank You! We Love You All!

Happy Birthday Willie!

WOW! I can’t believe that it has been a year ALREADY! I feel like it was just yesterday that William and I were blessed with our baby boy.  It makes me cry just thinking about how much he has grown and changed in the past year! We love him so much and thank God everyday for blessing us with him! Willie was born at- 4:38 AM in the morning and here he was brand new…

 

 

And here he is at 4:38 AM this morning 1 year later…
